Create idea

To use the Ideation Blueprint

  1. Click on Create button on your Confluence instance header.

  2. Choose the Blueprint Idea from the 'Create' dialog. (Sreenshot 1)
  3. Enter the idea title, topics related to idea (those topics will be traduced in page labels), people you want to notify about this idea (share with feature) and the idea description. (Screenshot 3)
  4. Click on Create button on the wizard.
  5. That's it ! A new Page Idea will be created.

Administration panel 

The administration panel offers the ability to manage statuses and roles for your Ideation Area. You can access this panel by clicking on Space Tools > Ideation

Status section

In this section you can set and create idea statuses.

By default there are three statuses within ideation area: Proposed, Evaluated and Achived. Those status can't be deleted to avoid data loss but can be modified (name and colors)

It's possible to add as many statuses as wished. Each status need to be associated to a role that can be created whithin the "add role" tab.

Delete a status

When you delete a status, you can choose to either re-initiate the ideas that have the status to delete to the first status within the process or to simply make the idea undo one step and get the previous status

Archive status

It's possible to enable archive status. This status is associated with ideation manager role and is about stopping idea evolution and tagging it as archived.

Ideation manager can archive an idea at any time if this status is enabled.

 

Role section

Each status need to be associated with a role. Role members are the only users who can make the idea move to the next status and add a feedback about this one step evolution. Either groups or single users can be added to a role.

By default there is the ideation manager role which can't be deleted. This role can be modified by adding or deleting its members.

Delete role

You can delete any role added. By default each status have the ideation manager role added to it, this way even if you remove a role, the status will always have the ideation manager role active for it.

Idea status

This tag shows the idea's current status.

If the current user is a member of the current status's associated role, he can see the edit tool to move the idea to the next status.

It includes the idea statuses progression and a feedback text field to add a note or information when transiting status.

Those information will be displayed in the next section.

Archive status

If "Archive Status" is enabled. You can archive idea in any time by clicking on the archive idea button within the wizard. This will tag the idea as archived and enable a restore process in any case user want to resume the process from the beginning.

 Status feedback

This section displays idea statuses history and the feedback associated to each status when transitioning it.

 

Voters section

Lists idea voters to get a visible information about the voters and their vote.

 

 

Ideation home page

This is the area where user can browse all space ideas. It aims to encourage space users to contribute and participate to drive business growth in.

Idea preview

An idea represents a Confluence page that users can vote and discuss.

This preview gives some information about the idea: status, vote scores, number of views and comments.

You can access the idea by simply clicking on the preview title.

Idea votes

You can vote up or down an idea by clicking respectively on the up or down arrow. The color of this arrow will change to gray to indicate your choice.The red and green colors show that the current user can choose this option to change his vote.

This operation can be repeated as many times as you want but only the last vote is saved.

Idea status

An idea can have one status to indicate its state. These idea status are used to classify ideas and get the most relevant ones.

Idea status can be modified by users specified in the role associated to this status. It can be done within the idea's page. More information

Idea statuses management (add, modify, delete and role association) is made through an administration panel. More information

Ideas information

Displays the number of ideas within the ideation area.

 

 

 

Browse ideas options

This section regroups the ideation module's timeline and the option to navigate through it!

Option 1 : 'Sort by'

It's represented by a drop-down list to sort ideas by recently added, most voted or most commented.

Option 2 : 'Filter by'

It's represented by a drop-down list to get all ideas or only ideas created by logged user

Navigation tool

You have two views through which you can visualize your ideas: list and table. By default the list (timeline style) is the landing view. You can select your favorite view with the navigation tool.
