Teams User Guide
Create team
To create a team, complete the following steps:
- On the main menu bar, click TEAMS
- On the Teams page, in the upper-right corner, click Create Team. (Only users with manage teams Permissions can view this button)
- In the Create Team window, choose the type that desired
There are 3 types of creation team:
From Scratch
To create a team from scratch
- In the Create Team pop-up, click From scratch
- Fill the information:
Team name
key will be generated automatically,
Team Lead
Description
Labels - Click Save.
From Template
To create a team from template
- In the Create Team pop-up, click From Template
- Fill the information:
Name
key will be generated automatically,
Template : Select a template for your team from list of templates already build when downloding add-on (this list will be increased based on our users needs)
Role : Select a role from list of roles related to template selected above to be the top role in team
Team lead : Select a user who plays the role selected above (top role) and implicitly team lead
Description
Labels - Click Save.
From Existing team
To create a team from existing team
- In the Create Team pop-up, click From Existing Team
- Fill the information:
Name:
key: will be generated automatically,
Existing team : Select a team that you want to recreated
Description
Labels - Click Save.
Update team
To update team, navigate to desired team, click on under action column.
When clicking on Update, a dialog will be displayed as following:
Information that can be updated are:
- Team Lead: Change to a new user. Can be used to change Lead if original user has been disabled or deleted from JIRA.
- Team description
- Labels
Click Save to confirm changes.
Delete team
To delete team, navigate to desired team, click on under action column. When clicking on Delete.
Team view
You can access team details by clicking on team name from teams listing as explained above.
Team view is organized as following:
This view contains 4 sections: About, Members, Projects and Diagram.
"About" Section
This section contains global information about Team Lead, total number of members, Team labels and description as displayed in prev
ious screenshot.
"Members" Section
This section contains a listing of team members. Listing details are explained below:
Column | Details |
---|---|
Member name | Display member full name and avatar. If user has been deleted or if app can not find username in database, full name will stroke and will not be counted in team member count as displayed below section (1) If user has been disabled from JIRA, this will be indicated in its status section (2) |
Role | Display associated role. This role is set during "add member" to team step |
Origin | Specify user origin: if he has been added individually or from group. This information relates to "add member" to team step where user need to choose to add member individually or add a JIRA group directly |
Status | Information about user state in JIRA: Active or Inactive |
Actions | Possible actions are:
User can update team member phone number and department. He can also change current role and select new parent user. Parent user is listed based on selected current role in order to avoid circular relation in user parenting.
Above actions can not be performed on default role "Team Lead" if a member is parent of another member on team the user can not delete him , a dialog will indicate this information |
Create new member
Each user in team relates to existing user in team which is what we call Parent user. This information is indicated when add new member(s).
To create a member, complete the following steps:
- On the Teams page, in the upper-right corner, click Create Member.
- In the Create member window , choose to add member individually or add a JIRA group directly to import a group of users.
- You need to specify member role in team and to which user he reports.
- If single user is selected you can fill information : Phone Number, Department
- Click Save.
"Projects" Section
This section display a listing of projects assigned to the team. Listing details are explained below:
Key of project : a clickable key which redirect to project associated page.
Name of project : display the name of project.
Action : click link to unsigned project to the team.
"Diagram" Section
This section contains the organization chart of team associated by an hierarchical order . Each member displayed with his full name, avatar and role on team.
If user has been deleted or if app can not saved username in database the member will be displayed blurry.
If user has been inactive on jira the member will be displayed shaded
